Here are some tips on how to get the best social media presence

  1.  Set goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound.

  2. Know who your target audience is and what they want out of your product/service. How does it benefit them? Why do they NEED your product or service. Your target audience can’t be everyone, you need to section off a specific audience. Doing this then helps you determine the best social channels to post on and what content to post.

  3.  Be a person through your social profiles. People want to follow a person with a personality that keeps them following you, not a corporation. You have to be able to connect with your audience on a personal level. This is how you realize what methods are working and which ones are not. People like to hear a joke sometimes, make them laugh. Make your audience WANT to stick around.

  4.  Look for a relationship, not just followers. In order to gain more followers, you need your audience to talk to you on a personal level. Talk about things they can relate to. Things you struggle with, challenges you overcome… you need to tell them a story. Let them connect with you. The more personal, the more you’re talked about which then creates a high brand awareness for your company. When people make posts about your company, make sure to repost and tag that person. When you are referencing a person or business, make sure to tag that person. Answer in captions questions your audience always asks on your posts. Get in front of your audience. Keep up with the trending topics. Don’t just comment on others posts, make sure to respond in the comments section. This makes you reliable to your audience. Active users on social media keep their following rate the highest. When you don’t post often, your audience will forget about you.

  5.  Stay organized with posts. Choose the best time/days your followers are active and adjust your posts to that. You will get more views which leads to more engagement (follows, likes, mentions, shares, retweets, and favorites).

  6.  Automate profiles the right way. When responding to a thread, make sure not to mass reply to everyone. Respond and engage to each individual person. Mass responses to engaging fans can get messy.

  7.  Focus on helping, not making sells. The more you talk about benefiting the customer, the more likely they will purchase a product/service from you.

  8.  Make sure you optimize your account for engaging with your audience. Using relevant keywords on your profile, sharing content related to your industry with hashtags, and connecting with popular accounts in your industry is very beneficial for increasing engagement.

  9.  Get visual with your content: amazing photographs, videos, stories, and live videos are the way to get the most engagement. Live video on Facebook seems to get three times the engagement than just a regular photograph post. Graphics and videos on Twitter get the most engagement through that specific platform.

  10.  Make your brand known. Stay on top of everything. Don’t lose your audience. Keep their attention and continue doing all of the following steps to boost brand awareness and engagement. Stay in front of your consumer, and stay up to date on trending topics for your audience. Goodluck 🙂
